Time for Some Love

My daughter found this on the beach at Easter and gave it to me.  "It looks like a heart Mum" she said "I love you".  I really needed to hear that at this moment in my life.

I haven't been so well this year, and I've let it get to me.
I think it's time for me to share some love again.

This weekend I have to spend an hour in one of these.

It's a little daunting.  Maybe I can pretend I'm lying on the beach and have a little sleep like this lady?

The hole looks so much smaller when there's a person in it, doesn't it?
Has anybody else had an MRI?

Anyway, regardless of the outcome, I'm now even more determined to enjoy all the little things in life and be grateful for what I have.

Love to you all.  Hug your family.  Be grateful.  Enjoy life.

  1. Oh Kylie, I am so sorry that you have to go through this. I have never had an MRI but I have had procedures that almost scared the life out of me, so I think I may be able to imagine how you feel right now. I hope all goes well for you and if it helps, I will say a little prayer for you that you will feel a sense of peace and that this will all be a distant memory soon. God bless, my friend xx. PS let me know how it goes.

  3. take care Kylie. sorry to hear you are having a rough time. gorgeous that you have a loving daughter and family at this tough time to support you. I've had a couple of MRIs over the years and it's fine -non invasive. just close your eyes and try to meditate!
fingers crossed for a good prognosis.
    cheers Fiona

    1. It did cross my mind - why didn't I go to that Learn to Meditate class that I've always been meaning to do? Thanks - I'll try deep breathing and happy thoughts.

    2. Are you allowed to take your ipod - maybe something like that would help.

    3. Yes apparently I can take an ipod. I was joking with a friend that I should make an MRI playlist. That way I can listen to some music and I would know roughly how long I've been in the machine, and how long to go. Anybody got any song suggestions?

  4. Oh Kylie, I'm so sorry to hear you are unwell. I have had an MRI too, but as Fiona said it's very non-invasive and if you close your eyes and drift away it'll be over before you know it. I hope everything works out ok, Kylie. Take care.

  11. How sweet of your daughter! I’m sorry you have been ill, Kylie – I hope the MRI is able to pinpoint the issue.

I’ve never had an MRI myself, but I’ve been in the machine while one was taking place – my two year old daughter needed one, and she wasn’t able to stop from squirming (she needed a brain MRI), so I got in the machine with her, and held her while she underwent the MRI. It’s very noisy, but other than that, there’s nothing to it!

    {{{hugs}}} Kylie.

    1. Thanks Susan,
How brave of your little girl to have an MRI. I know of quite a few children that have had them. I can hardly be a sook about it when they're so brave can I? And good on you for going in with her. Mum's will do anything for our kids won't we?
      Thanks for your support.
      Kylie xx
